ANL CONTAINER LINE PTY LTD

Course: HPM
Name: Dragan Jankovic

Overall very happy I took this course as I must admit I had hesitation and said to myself “Not another course” – I was successful to pass my LPA’s to my inside sales and concentrated on my HPA’s – by doing this I managed to increase my client calls and I know I also increased my book of business – I am positive this has had a major impact in me achieving 35% over my budget – I am now always looking at the slight edge and where I can secure the business with the small adjustment – My goal setting has meaning and I am now putting in small focus goals to ensure I am on the right track – My communication has really picked up and it is marvellous by simply becoming a good listener how much better I am as a communicator. The list is long and a lot learnt

Course: HPM
Name: Ian Redfern

I am in the latter part of my career and had not had any firm plan in place towards transition to retirement . By using this as a personal win/win it enabled me to set out in a logical way all the aspects that I needed to tackle in the short ,medium and long term and is the template for my future plans . This has been the best benefit of being involved in LMA for me .

Course: HPM
Name: Paul Murone

I really enjoyed class and role plays, the interaction with the other people attending made it interesting. The thing that I believe is most measureable was my actually putting anything on paper and then ensuring that I followed through. I definitely learnt the value of time and my worth to my company. Goals I achieved were working at heights program and developing my soft skills which was very important to me.

AUSTRALIAN AEROSPACE LIMITED

Course: COL
Name: Stephen Lindsay

I always enjoy the aspect of having a clear precise status schedule in some form or another, the FBOL was an excellent way for monitoring and expressing communication as well as giving students a definitive place to monitor their progress, one of the most useful tools I have experienced. I enjoyed the discussion aspects that we had on many occasions and even though I may not have agreed on every instance It was an area that gave the course an in-depth understanding on areas of discussion. I must commend Camille in this area of being very good in explaining a point of view and also giving a descriptive explanation in support of there view in most instances.

Course: HPM
Name: Kevin Vidler

Being on this course with people representing a large range of industries, backgrounds and levels of seniority was incredibly insightful and valuable. My confidence level as a manager and especially as a leader is much higher. My team and I are getting more done and are finding time for improvement activities. Loved this course.

Course: HPM
Name: Vaughn Wilds

By far the most enjoyable part of the course was the interaction and learning from the other course members. Being involved in the Military Aircraft world my whole working career it was fantastic to interact with a creative and motivated group of people that would happily share their knowledge and experiences. The successful completion of my change project was very rewarding the development and implementation of the combined modification and depot level maintenance servicing schedule for the P3 Orion allowed Australian Aerospace to satisfy the customers request within TMS and without compromise to engineering standards. Thank you to my course mates, what a great way to spend a Tuesday morning I will truly miss you all.

Course: SSTLS

Being able to interact with other members from Aust Aero was enjoyable, I now have a better understanding of the importance of goal setting and how to recognise my HPA’s and LPA’s to better manage my productivity and effectiveness within my team. Working with a time schedule has also helped me achieve a better daily routine which has also helped other team members as we all tend to structure our days in blocks now. The best goal that I have achieved whilst on course is sorting out the tyre BLI and organising a stock count of all tyres to enable a credible base line .

Course: SSTLS
Name: Richard Hillan

I enjoyed the group discussions held during the fortnightly workshops. In particularly, the ones that involved group exercises such as, 1. The colours exercise to identify personality types and effective methods to communicate with people of different personalities. 2. The negative feedback role play. 3. The blind jigsaw puzzle exercise to demonstrate the value of strong and concise communication skills. 4. The exercise requiring the team to list 15 items from most to least important when trying to hypothetically travel 300km across the surface of the moon. I was most interested in the thought process of the individuals in the team and their reactions when their preferences did not agree with the general consensus of the team. My most beneficial accomplishment was improving my organisational and planning skills. Furthermore, I understanding the advantages of written goals and the importance of clearly identifying HPAs. At present I am not in a team lead position, however, I feel that the skills and knowledge that I have acquired during the course will be invaluable in future. The LMA course notes provide a vital recourse that I can turn to when required.

Course: SSTLS
Name: Darren Roles

I found Gary to be very helpful and willing to go to the next level in supporting my learning if required. Gary offered very insightful advice to me and has great knowledge on desired course outcomes and how to apply them to the individual. Gary was always available via any medium (Phone, email etc.) and always bent over backwards to assist me whichever way I desired. I found that access to my manager/mentor was one of the issues to affect outcomes of the course. My manager mentor was difficult to contact due to his other work commitments. I also found that in some instances my Win-Win goals may not always be seen or interpreted as best for my employer or manager/mentor. I was able to discuss this aspect with Gary to enable a good outcome for all concerned.

Name: Dustin Edwards

The skills gained in this LMA course have not only improved my professional performance, leadership and management abilities, they have also had a profound impact on successes in my personal life as well. The flexible teaching style and workshop assignments are scripted in a way to ensure I benefitted both at work and at home. This encouragement of success at home allowed me to develop investment strategies, develop a business plan and achieve my goals in my sporting career all within the six months I that the course has run. Success in the workplace began with small achievements of goal setting and prioritisation, evolved into greater successes in more effective communication and team building skills and ended up with empowering me to win a promotion, again, all within the six months.

Since completing this course I now feel more confident to manage my team and cope with the new additional workload. I also feel more confident to “lead from the front” and make informed accurate decisions that will affect the productivity and effectiveness of my team. I achieved all of my win/win goals as well as my fortnightly personal and business goals, this seemed to be quite daunting at the beginning but patience is a virtue and they got easier and easier as more and more ticks in the boxes appeared and before I knew it they were all done. We now have accurate schedules and management has the confidence that the modifications will be done on time.

Course: SSTLS

I not only had the challenge of doing the training course but at the same time I was taking on the challenge of my manager’s role while he was on leave for a couple of months. I found this course was able to keep me focused and understanding about my new role and my abilities. It also help me to understand my HPA’s and that some other tasks can be trusted to my team. It has been a great self confidence booster course as well as a leadership management course.

Putting existing ideas and challenges in my head in to words. Practical ways to meet my goals. Better understanding of team dynamics and addressing each team members needs. I learnt the most about the importance of setting SMART goals. I got the most success from applying this principle in my personal life. Also planning out steps to achieve the desired goal. Work win/win goals struggled, but the process allowed me to experience how a lack of personal buy-in can really affect motivation for achieving the goal. Communication was another area where I saw improvement and growth between my team leader and work mates.

Course: SSTLS
Name: Aaron Hooper

My most successful project / goal was the publication rack, resulted in several outcomes – reduced number of pubs, less chance of rack falling over, easier to locate appropriate manual, less work for TPO to do, easier to reach most used pubs, less bending down, a lot of win wins for many different people. I have had good ROI on several of my goals, Publication rack, avionics daily planner and avionics BOM kit.

Course: SSTLS
Name: Lachlan Hearne

The course was perfect timing for me personally as I had just been promoted to Team Lead. All aspects of the course were relevant and useful pretty much straight away and I was able to implement them throughout the course. Of particular interest was recognising and building a team, and different ways to inspire team members. The TEAM philosophy was the best point from the entire course, as it emphasizes the teamwork principles. As for the goals, I was able to set goals in areas that had interested me for quite a while but never had the opportunity to apply myself to them, for example learning VBA coding. Also, two personal goals were accomplished which required some strict scheduling and foresight.

It was encouraging to meet with everyone each week & hear how they were applying the tools & learning into their different workplaces. My biggest goal was to gain back valuable time at work to spend on my hpa’s. I achieved more time each week with the help of every tool & assignment we learnt about. I was then able to pass this onto my assistant & achieve even more results. I loved how practical the course was- it wasn’t about writing essays at all. Thanks heaps.
