Meg made the course and ( classroom ) a fun and enjoyable place to be while also giving every participant an opportunity to develop and blossom into professional sales people. The opportunity to be open and contribute at every stage was very helpful in developing techniques and learning from each others experiences was priceless. Biggest moment for myself was right at the start when I learnt that a goal can be set for day to day task’s not just for budget, goals and action steps can be set to achieve my ultimate goal, the development of a USP is a lesson that has been very beneficial and something that I will continue to develop and improve through the duration of my working day’s. Finally the concept of above the line thinking is a concept that I have and will continue to grasp and develop in both my professional and personal life. Goals I have achieved are reaching a specific % of my budget and maintaining it, then resetting that goal to achieve my full budget and achieving that which was indeed a landmark moment, another was setting a target figure for cold calling and conversion of that specific task, this goal has helped me to achieve my budget goal as well.

One of the best modules from the L M A course was planning my approach to the different prospects out in the market place. I also found ways in utilizing my time my efficiently during the day and allocating non urgent tasks to my admin staff . I also gained knowledge from the handling of objections module and learned to probe and ask more questions when dealing with new and existing customers out in the market place. One of my win win goals was going out for works with my family after dinner and have found that it has made a difference in my well being, by it being a good form of stress release. Another win win goal that I have gained benefit from. Is to go out with a site supervisor once a month, and this has helped me gain additional technical knowledge out in the field and made me more confident and positive when dealing with new and existing customers. I will recommend this course to all sales staff within the Brickworks group.

I had been in a team leader role previously for a number of years, however this time coming from being a team member into this position has been extremely challenging for me. This course has help me in not only confirming what I already knew, but simple ways to deal with different personalities within a team environment. It reminded me of the importance of balance, with the wheel of life something I had forgotten. It showed that there is a good way of giving negative feedback. The most important thing I have for me is that there are some very simple tools to help keep things in perspective and in focus.

EBM-PAPST A&NZ PTY LTD

I found the course really enjoyable and interesting to hear other people of similar management levels discussing the same issues despite the various industries we come from. It made some of the current issues not difficult to deal with as the different points of view gave other ways to deal with situations. Instead of letting certain staff take over meetings by discussing their own personal issues, I learnt to use open questions regarding work related items to bring the discussion back to the task at hand and involved other team members to make their point of view in the open forum. It lessened certain stronger staff members using their assumed power to push their own initiatives and allowed the other quieter team members to participate and add their perspective which more often than not were extremely useful. It typically made the stronger members acknowledge the viewpoint and has added to more frequent and helpful ideas leading to better decisions being made.

At the beginning of this course I wrote down a couple of areas that I needed to concentrate on for my own self development. Inability to say NO, Setting unrealistic time frames, ineffective delegation and constant interruptions on a daily bases. One of my goals was to set a time between 7.30 – 9.30am every morning to concentrate on my HPA’s. This time is critical and is respected by all work colleagues now. Another goal was keeping a daily diary. I collect large amounts of information on a daily basis. I was constantly keeping this information my head. I am stilling having problems in breaking this habit. I have noticed when I do write down information into my diary that I can determine if this can be delegated to someone else. I have learnt the importance of delegation and how important my time is worth. The fortnightly workshops are a great opportunity to discuss best ideas and experiences from the different models and how it effected everyone in their work environment. I found these discussions very informative and help me to refocus on how I could implement these ideas into my own work environment. I found the model about understanding the Psychology of change a very important tool. I also struggle with change. Understanding the series of steps we all go through and how we can deal with the constant changes within our work environment. I enjoyed doing the project. Putting a plan together, setting up action steps, using a Gant chart. Designing a Project was a total new experience for me. I learnt a lot about having a plan and setting time frames to achieve. I am very happy with the outcome of the project.
