PHILIP MORRIS LTD

Course: TPE
Name: Tom Helmore

All aspects of the course were enjoyable, and extremely relevant in relation to my current employment. Early in the course an awareness was created regarding where I am currently sitting personally, and the vast number of opportunities, big and small, to improve my performance, improve my skills and further develop myself. The greatest benefit I took from the course was the above relating to awareness, as well as the importance of the correct attitude and action. This biggest achievements for myself related to improvements in planning, organization and time management. These improvement were heavily impacted by the fact that this was my first win win agreement goal, and the fact that action steps were planned out that, with my progress traced regularly.

I really enjoyed the course. The facilitator was excellent and the course content was relevant to all aspects of my role as a manager.

I achieved all 4 of my business goals. I did not achieve my personal goal however I did get my finances on track to allow me to save in the future. The focus goals have been of great value to me as I learned to see the importance of short term incentive and gain to assist in the achievement of long term goals I have never been a planner or setter of goals. My life has been chaos and I see that now. I have learned to plan my time a lot better allowing me to get my own work done, assist others and still have time left in the day. Clint is a fascinating facilitator. I believe he made the course for me. He inspired me to set and achieve the goals that I did.

less interruptions as I have put some tools in place(i.e. signs on my chair; diverting phones); planning and organisation increased – spending more time on my HPAs; increased delegation of my LPAs; more time spent on my HPAs’ more assertive attitude

RJ VINCENT & CO

Course: HPM
Name: Sue Hayter

An excellent course overall which provided many useful management tools that have now been incorporated into my day to day personal and professional environments. Win/win goals, imperative/important, the CD’s – repetitive learning is certainly the way to learn. The many discussions and feedback sessions. I thoroughly enjoyed the interaction of my fellow course participants who were more than happy to share their knowledge and experience, where we shared some humorous moments. My success was to realise that you can achieve anything that you put your mind to, and most importantly to believe in yourself that you can achieve the goals we set both personally and professionally. Since commencing the course in February I realised not being happy in a role isn’t the best place to be – so made the move from my comfort zone into another world of challenges, which I know I will succeed.

This course has allowed me to tap into skills I never had, I have learnt to delegate tasks that don’t need to be done by me, I have been able to manage my time a lot better clawing back 3 – 4 hours per week, the HPA’s are a brilliant idea, this has really helped me to focus on the important tasks. Every module had take always, and each module had many learning outcomes that really assisted me in my win win goals and how to relate this to my workplace Well done to the course organisers

Most enjoyable aspects of the course are all of the tools that were provided to me to learn i.e. the DVD’s and the folder with all the written material. One of my main win win goal was to have a project plan written out and documented with all projects that were to affect IT in the next coming months. I have achieved this and continued to maintain this as there will always be add moves and changes to the projects that affect IT. But in turn it has assisted me to become more organized and feel like I have control on what is going on within the department.

Mike, the other students and the workshops were all enjoyable and great to work with….. I didn’t miss a session… As far as results, I cant pinpoint a specific scenario that I can attribute to this course, but what I can say that I am very pleased about is that since commencing this course in April, my sales figures have increased significantly each month and all new accounts I have secured to date still trade regularly, despite having a few hiccups along the way.

Many thanks for an excellent course. It has given us a lot of food for thought, and I came away feeling fired up to strategize! For me it was a perfect overview, with all the necessary detail where required. It also confirmed to me that it is a fascinating, fast-moving discipline of the future which I’d like to further progress in. Extremely well structured, planned and focussed. Like the size of the group and being able to share thoughts and experiences.

Overall, the course has been of much benefit to me, not only from a work point of view, but from a personal point of view as well. By nature, being a ‘loner’ and not given to interacting much with others, the course has taught me of the importance of consulting with others, looking at situations from a different point of view and of taking decisions on a collective basis. This has led to more harmony, less stress and more effective decision making. Also the setting of goals, both at work and privately, and constantly working on them, has enabled some of them to be actually achieved. A special word of thanks to Peter S for his unwavering support and encouragement that has got me this far when things appeared insurmountable especially with the unfinished assignments.

Course: COL

My greatest take away was the importance of goal setting and writing down goals. The tools provided have been helpful in my day to day team leader role and I will continue to use them. I implemented an electronic credit card processing system. I have set the direction to improve payment processing.

Course: COL

I have gained a lot from the course that I have implemented both professionally and personally. I have found the idea of goal setting invaluable and it is something I now do without any effort. It has been nice to get to know others throughout the organisation and understand and appreciate different pressures throughout the organisation. I am happy that the course has allowed me to set workplace projects and complete the them. Several things that have been on my “to do” list are now down – woo hoo!!

Course: COL

The feature of the course I liked the most was that the work needed to be done was on your normal work. It wasn’t extra work, rather a smarter way to do our usual work.

Course: COL
Name: Robbie Beale

The last session I found the best. I genuinely felt like I had some rapport with Peter that I had perhaps not felt as strongly before. It really made for a great last session although a little disappointing that earlier sessions had not been as good! I found a great value in the networking and getting to know a range of colleagues from across the organisation. There were also a number of useful tools in the course that I have used a number of times in my work that have really helped.

above the line approach – to support your staff through training. Need to identify the skills gap and come up with plan on how training can achieve this objective. It is critical to develop people’s potential as staff is a critical asset to the company.

Time management section was the most useful to me.

Course: COL
Name: Ravi Sundaram

The interaction and learning from other course participants as all participants openly discussed their journey and experiences was very refreshing and useful in addition to the numerous tools and forms that one can put to good use in managing self and team behaviour. These tools and forms are a key to someone looking at ways to action some of the learnings.

Spending time with other key members in the leadership group of the SCA. Able to better identify HPAs and spending time on those areas. Spend more planning and assigning time to spend with staff in 1-1 and team settings. Better comprehension of recognising signs and dealing with the change process.

Course: COL
Name: David Tomlinson

Key aspects of the course for me were: Networking with a wide variety of sections in the organisation which has allowed relationships to develop that will greatly aid in the organisation taking on a more collaborative approach in the future. Gaining an understanding of just what is the role of a manager right at the time in my career where I am starting into this area. I have had great feedback from team members, manager, General Manager and even the CE on my approach and how I have developed my leaderships skills to achieve ever greater results through my team and others. I have achieved goals such as ensuring we achieve full compliance with regulators, improving the flow of communications to team members, and basically, through the applications of what I have learned, gaining the respect of my team, peers and stakeholders as I employ a more professional, planned approach. Gaining an understanding of the principle of goal setting has had an enormous change on both my work and family life. Taking the time to break things down to clear, precise steps and scheduling time to work on action steps has allowed me to much more productive without putting in significantly more effort. Taking the time to identify where I want to go rather than just cruising along has given me much needed impetus to focus on career goals as well as to work with the family to identify where we want to be in 2 years time and what we need to be doing to get there.

Course: COL
Name: David Beynon

I have enjoyed learning about the skills and attitudes which make for a successful leader. I also enjoyed interacting with/and learning from peers from other areas of the SCA. I have already applied some of what I have learned – – but it’s now up to me to ensure that I continue to apply these improved management skills – and work on the several areas which are clearly still a weakness. Any success resulting from this course is proportional to the effort put in, and I would advise others not to start unless they are prepared to make a serious effort.

The most enjoyable part of the course was being able to discuss issues raised in a forum of fellow colleagues who are facing similar issues.

My success came from taking control of the framework that the business was operating in. And selecting the right platform. And finding the right resources, professionals, experts to perform the activities. Right now I am taking a re-cut of the job descriptions, refining and refining. The continuous improvement is that the refinements will never end/ This course would be really difficult for me to do if I did not have control over many of the decisions, as radical as ripping out one system and replacing it with another. Having said that, getting resources connected to the coal face – is the key. FLAT management, experts surrounded by resources. I now see executive control & high participation over the IT functions of the business, CRITICAL to success.

it gave me , a good way to approach my hpa’s , it also taught me that while I am a supervisor , it does not mean I am supervising properly . it has taught me to stand back , and allow my operators to do there jobs.; also to give negative feed back, and to practise, which is important. it has reinforced the power of written goals , and I was given a platform to achieve a win win goal , that will save money for visy. I also got to see how other people , solve problems in there industries, which is very valuable

I really enjoyed this course. I never once dreaded going to Nudgee on a Tuesday morning – I found the learning environment very easy to be a part of. The course facilitators were both fantastic even though they were very different in their approach. I have printed most templates off and have filed them on my computer at work. I would say I am currently using around 60% of them and want to introduce more as I create new habits. The assessments we fantastic – not too big and definitely not ‘pull your hair out’ types. I loved FBOL and will continue to use it!
